MAKE|UNMAKE

MAKE|UNMAKE is born from the knowledge that we must commit, for our very survival, to the act of imagining, and that we must continuously learn new skills and discard those that no longer serve our futures, again and again. Our musical performance collective has been drawn together by a desire to find our way toward an imagined world using sound as medium.

Members Clara Lyon (Spektral Quartet, Decoda) and Hannah Collins (New Morse Code, A Far Cry) have performed together as a violin/cello duo since 2016, specializing in contemporary works by composers such as Mazz Swift, Nina C. Young, Robert Honstein, and Simon Steen-Andersen.

Recent performances include WQXR’s Pride Show, Constellation Chamber Concerts, and Lawrence University, along with composer readings for the University of Chicago and Arizona State University.

Interdisciplinary collaborations include Correspondence, a multimedia installation exhibited in Chicago featuring visual art by Antonia Contro (Rockefeller Fellow).
